Basement Bathroom

Where to start with this bathroom? Well, the amount of wasted space in this bathroom was straight up insane! My dismay for the builder that was too lazy to add closets into the two bedrooms downstairs and instead, build a useless bathroom, was apparent during this project.

Never-the-less, it was a successful project on a budget. I picked up this Ikea storage unit on marketplace for a cool $30.00 and it was a great option to not only add storage but to fill up this huge empty space.

I once again painted the bathroom floors with Fusion Mineral paint but I would not reccomend this in a basement bathroom, especially a slightly damp one like this. Paint went a LONG way in this bathroom. It looked like a bad tan/pink shade of early 2000ā€™s paint threw up in here. By painting the walls and ceiling all the same colour, it not only brighted it up in there but also made for a beautiful colour pallet to play off of.

Backsplash. Everyone always has firsts in life. This was my first time ever doing a tile project by myself. From buying all the materials to figuring out how to install it, it was a process with a lot of YouTube searches! Iā€™m here to tell you that if you set your mind to it, you can do anything!

Almost everything in this bathroom was either bought used or built by me, and was so rewarding. I crafted the art behind the toilet, ordered the mirror from our amazing glass guy and built a frame for it, my husband built the wood round table out of some extra slabs from our friends wedding, and even the towel hooks were custom made by me to fit the space.
